Author and Commentators

John Henry Nash (1871-1947). Born in Canada, he moved to San Francisco to become one of the city’s most noted printers. He later became Professor of Typography at the University of Oregon.

Alfred William Pollard (1859-1944). English bibliographer.

Edward Johnston (1872-1944). British calligrapher, type-designer and author. He designed type for the Doves Press.

Thomas James Cobden-Sanderson (1840-1922). British publisher and bookbinder.
