Author and Commentators
Isaac Cox (1829- ?). Born in Maryland, he was one of the sons of Major Cox. Major Cox and his sons came to California in 1850. Cox wrote a history of Trinity County in 1858.
Owen Cochran Coy (1884-1952). Born in Iowa, he went to Stanford and received his Ph. D. from University of California, Berkeley. He became a professor of history at the University of Southern California from 1925-1950.
James William Bartlett (1862-1936). Born in Trinity County, he attended St. Mary’s College in San Francisco. He later became a superior court judge in Trinity County.
Caroline Wenzel (1886-1959). Born in San Francisco, she graduated from the California State Library School in 1914 and worked for the California Library for 37 years.
George Dunlap Lyman (1882-1949). San Francisco Medical doctor, historian, and author.
