Author and Commentators

Malcolm E. Barker. Born in England, he came to San Francisco, CA in 1961. Since then he has written a number of books concerning the history of San Francisco and founded the publishing firm of Londonborn Publications.

Carlo G. Carlucci. He is a former monk and ex-teacher of Sacred Theology and Classical Languages. Carlo is also an artist and has published several books.

The Book

This is a coloring book about two famous dogs in early San Francisco. The true story of these two canny canines, as reported in the newspapers of 1861-1865, is explained in greater detail in “Bummer & Lazarus: San Francisco’s Famous Dogs” by Malcolm E Barker (revised edition 2001), available at bookstores and Amazon.com.
