CANCELED – Professor at the University of San Francisco and award-winning graphic artist with a specialty in book design, Diane has been an environmental activist for over thirty years, receiving two Congressional Commendations while acting as president and board member of Bay Area Friends of Tibet. Winner of the Gourmand 2005 Award for Best Wine Photography/Illustration for her book design of “Imagery: Art for Wine”, Diane has graciously designed the postcard publicity for our spring program series.

CANCELED – The Spectre’s Bride, a film by puppet maker Francesca Borgatta, is an intensely dramatic musical ghost story about an abandoned bride and the Spectre who kidnaps her and takes her on a wild, night-long journey. Told with puppets and set to the music of Antonin Dvorak’s colorful cantata The Spectre’s Bride, the film premiered in August 2019, was accepted at several film festivals and has won the Storytellers Award at the Berkeley Film and Video festival.

CANCELED – Darrell Schramm is a recently retired professor from the University of San Francisco where he taught rhetoric, composition, and poetry for twenty years. Among the many plants in his Vallejo garden, he grows about 187 roses. Author of “Rainbow: a history of the rose in California”, he serves on the board of Heritage Roses Group, the oldest heirloom rose organization in the world, and edits its quarterly magazine, The Rose Letter.
