Author and Commentators

Malcolm E. Barker. Born in England, he came to San Francisco, CA in 1961. Since then he has written a number of books concerning the history of San Francisco and founded the publishing firm of Londonborn Publications.

Carlo G. Carlucci. He is a former monk and ex-teacher of Sacred Theology and Classical Languages. Carlo is also an artist and has published several books.

The story of British-born Joshua Norton, once a wealthy businessman, who lost his money trying to corner the rice market in San Francisco. The shock unbalanced his mind. He then declared himself the Emperor of the United States and was treated with respect and kindness by the citizens of San Francisco, where he became a local legend.
